Discontinuation of the VIP2 Premier Policy and LifeStage Advantage Cash Benefit Rider
Over the past year, we have been implementing a new rate basis on our VIP2 and LifeStage Advantage Policies, to bring our pricing in line with our actuarial assumptions. As a leader in the Long Term Care Insurance (LTCI) industry, it is important that we remain committed to reviewing our products to ensure they allow for the stability of the overall business.
In keeping with this, we have evaluated the risk that the cash benefit presents and believe it does not align with our philosophy of providing coverage for a long-term care event. We have given this very careful consideration and believe that discontinuing the VIP2 Premier Policy and the LifeStage Advantage Cash Benefit Rider is the right decision for our business. There are a variety of other rich features still available, and as a leader in the long-term care insurance marketplace, we remain committed to offering solutions to help fund people's long-term care needs.
Please note the following regarding to the discontinuation of these cash benefit features:
Applications
- Individual and Multi-Life applications requesting the VIP2 Premier Policy or LifeStage Advantage Cash Benefit Rider must be signed and dated by May 2 and received by MetLife LTC no later than May 10:
